A 17-year-old Isla Vista resident was stopped by University Police officers at approximately 3 a.m. on January 6 after drifting his 2009 Toyota Tacoma into five parked cars on El Colegio Road, subsequently hitting three more after driving across the Camino Corto intersection. Once intercepted, he was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was taken to Santa Barbara County Jail after being arrested for DUI. There were no injuries reported. The California Highway Patrol has taken over the investigation.
