Wed Apr 20, 2011 | 05:00pm

The Grand Jury on 4/12 handed down a criminal indictment against Joshua and Dayli Braun, owners of Hortipharm Marijuana Dispensary and Pizza Guru. Several employees were also charged. The Brauns were both indicted on 23 counts of money laundering and possession for sale of marijuana. The grand jury proceedings—done in secret, in front of jurors, and without defense counsel present—skip the preliminary hearing phase and allow the case to move forward without giving the defense an ability to address the charges.
