Department of Defense Funds UCSB Research

UCSB will receive more than $14 million during the next five years from the U.S. Department of Defense as part of a $191 million research initiative program. The award is from the Air Force Office of Scientific Research and will feature collaboration among several schools. One of the two awards is for research in “Quantum Memories in Photon-Atomic Solid State Systems,” while the other is for developing solutions for building new 3-D integrated circuit technology.
