The annual rush of migrating whales in the Santa Barbara Channel is officially underway. In the past week, several boats from Ventura and Santa Barbara harbors have reported a marked uptick in the amount of whales and associated water spouts seen while making the rounds out and about in the Santa Barbara Channel. Besides a healthy amount of humpback whales, there have been at least two confirmed reports of the always impressive blue whales, the largest animal on the planet.
