Though a question about jail time credit must be cleared up before the decision is officially handed down, it appears Eastside gang member Emilio Mora will be sentenced to 19 years in prison for his role in the 2007 stabbing death of Lorenzo Carachure. During today’s proceedings, Mora’s potential sentence was reduced from 19 years, eight months. His next hearing will take place on May 20 in Judge Clifford Anderson’s courtroom.

Mora, 22, had struck a deal with the District Attorney’s Office, testifying against fellow Eastside gang member Ruben Mize in the Carachure murder trial. As the tentative 19-year sentence was read aloud by Anderson, Mora — who’s lost significant weight since entering jail — hung his head before staring up at the ceiling for some time.
