Allied Waste Gives Money for Graffiti Tracking

Allied Waste may have shut down operations in the City of Santa Barbara, but not before donating $4,400 to the Police Department to pay for a graffiti tracking system. The donation pays for a photographic record-keeping system that allows cops to track graffiti where it happens via GPS. When a suspect is arrested for graffiti-related crime, the system enables officers to check their photo files for similar graffiti elsewhere in town.
