Murder Suspect Pleads Guilty to Voluntary Manslaughter

Steven Santana, one of the four alleged gang-member defendants accused in the deadly beating of George Ied in October 2010, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter with a gang enhancement and being an active participant in a criminal street gang. Santana faces a maximum of 21 years in prison. He will likely be sentenced at a later date, after the trial of his codefendants, brothers Ismael and Miguel Parra and Michael Cardenas. Their trial is tentatively scheduled for January.
