County Government Going on Holiday Furlough

Thu Dec 15, 2011 | 12:00am

Much of Santa Barbara County government will be on furlough the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day as part of wage concession agreements with unions, a move that will save the county millions of dollars. Sheriff, fire, and public health and assistance services will remain open during this time, however, and the elections office will be open on 12/30 for candidate filings. Some other departments will have limited staffing throughout the week. A comprehensive list is available at countyofsb.org.
