Library Expands E-Book Selection

The Santa Barbara Public Library has expanded its virtual presence by adding a number of e-books, bringing its total collection to 5,000. Electronic (or e-) books can be downloaded to and read on electronic devices such as Kindles, Nooks, smart phones, iPads, and other tablets. These materials can be downloaded from the library Web site — sbplibrary.org — any time of day, any day of the week. The added titles were made possible by private donors and the Friends of the Santa Barbara Public Library. Library director Irene Macias said that the investment in e-books is a direct result of higher demand.
