The South Coast got a much-needed seasonal dose of rain this past week. Back-to-back storm systems, the first one arriving to the Santa Barbara area just before midnight on Friday, brought many areas the first measurable rainfall since November. All in all, totals of 1.9 inches of rain dropped on downtown Santa Barbara, nearly 2.5 inches at the airport in Goleta, and just over 4.5 inches up on Figueroa Mountain. Even with the weekend weather, much of Santa Barbara County remains well below its average rainfall totals for this time of year.
