Maldonado and Mitchum Pull Papers at Same Time

Former lieutenant governor Abel Maldonado and actor Chris Mitchum ran into each other while pulling papers for the 24th Congressional District race outside the County Elections Office on Monday, both a step away from making the race official. The two will be fighting for conservative votes in the June primary, as they take on incumbent Lois Capps, who has been in office since 1998. To no one’s surprise, Capps received the endorsement of the state Democratic Party on Sunday.
