Two Hope Ranch cabanas, the Bryce Beach Cabana and Funicular, and the Irene and Frances Rich Beach Cabana, were designated as historic county landmarks by the Board of Supervisors on 3/6. The Irene and Frances Rich cabana is located on the bluff face of Hope Ranch, and is part of a notable arts colony that flourished in the 1950s, according to the Historic Landmarks Advisory Commission. The unique Bryce beach cabana and funicular cab were constructed in 1931 by Santa Barbara designer Mary McLaughlin Craig.
