An apartment complex fire in Goleta at around 9 a.m. this morning left eight residents displaced and a woman with first-degree burns to her face. She also suffered smoke inhalation and was transported to Cottage Hospital by ambulance.
The fire broke out in a ground story unit at 7620 Cathedral Oaks Road, severely damaging that apartment and causing heat and smoke damage to two others. County Fire crews were able to knock down the blaze within 20 minutes. No firefighters were injured, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
The American Red Cross was notified to assist the displaced tenants.
