Woman Charged with DUI and Child Endangerment

Accused of Hitting and Injuring Two Bicyclists in March

A Los Olivos woman has been charged by the Santa Barbara District Attorney’s Office for reportedly driving her SUV into a pack of bicyclists, seriously injuring two.

The incident took place March 15 on Foxen Canyon Road when 32-year-old Alicia Gilbert was allegedly on drugs with her 8-month-old child in the car. One of the victims suffered fractures to her arm and leg. The other victim was knocked into a coma and remains unresponsive.

Gilbert is facing the following charges: driving under the influence of a drug and causing bodily injury to another, failing to provide accurate information at the scene of an accident, child endangerment, false personification of another, and driving with a suspended license. Her bail is set at $200,000.
