Lori Gaskin Takes Over as SBCC President

On Monday, Lori Gaskin took the helm of SBCC, which spent the last year without a permanent president. Gaskin takes over the college as it faces a challenging — possibly $15 million — shortfall and continues to smooth things over with its accreditor. However, she said, “I don’t focus on those challenges to the exclusion of all the things that we do really well.” President of the trustees’ board, Peter Haslund, said of Gaskin, “The genuineness of her commitment is awesome.”
