Tyco Closing Carpinteria Plant

Coastal View News reported last week that the Tyco Electronics plant in Carpinteria will shut down by the end of 2013, shifting production to Tyco facilities in China, Mexico, and North Carolina, and eliminating around 100 area jobs. A company spokesperson told the Coastal View News that the decision was made to increase efficiency and improve the bottom line, and that Tyco will retain a satellite office with 14 engineers and managers somewhere in the Santa Barbara area.
