Endorsement Journalism

I refer to your various candidate endorsements, in the recent edition, for the upcoming election.

Where I come from, fair and balanced endorsements chronicle the strengths and weaknesses of each candidate and then make a recommendation. The Santa Barbara Independent, it seems, first highlights the strengths of one candidate and then the weaknesses of the other and then announces its preference.

Your peculiar slant to endorsement journalism deprives the reader of important information to make a meaningful judgment about not only the candidates but the quality of your conclusions.
