New Chopper for County’s Air Support Unit

Sheriff Bill Brown unveiled a new state-of-the-art helicopter at a ceremony Monday morning in Santa Ynez. The helicopter — refurbished with private donations — is outfitted to fight fires and is capable of a variety of law enforcement and emergency medical functions. Built in 1965, the Huey brings the number of choppers in the county’s Air Support Unit to six.
