The Santa Barbara Public Library System has announced Moonwalking with Einstein by Joshua Foer as its official selection for this year’s Santa Barbara Reads program. The downtown branch will have an exhibit inspired by the book through January and will host a presentation February 20. The program culminates March 4 at 8 p.m. with Foer giving a talk at UCSB’s Campbell Hall. Walking with Einstein tracks Foer’s real-life journey as he learned memorization techniques employed by Cicero and other medieval scholars, allowing him to memorize entire books. Foer eventually won the USA Memory Championship.
