To coincide with our sixth annual St. Patrick’s Day stroll on March 17, The Santa Barbara Independent is hosting “The Whiskey Rebellion,” an amateur cocktail contest focusing on the strong brown liquor.
To enter for the chance to wine prizes, publicity, and prestige, submit the following to food@independent.com by February 22:
• Your name.
• A short bio that describes your unpaid bartending experience, connection to Santa Barbara, and affinity for St. Paddy’s Day.
• The name, description, and ingredient list of your whiskey-based drink.
The semifinals for the contest will be held the evening of February 28, 5:30-8 p.m., at the Wildcat Lounge, and the finals will be held the following week.
