Das Introduces Pesticide Bill

Calling air fumigants “some of the most dangerous pesticides on the market,” Assemblymember Das Williams introduced a bill last week that would create a timeline for the state’s Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) to adopt mitigation measures for pesticides dubbed “Toxic Air Contaminants.” The legislation, according to a statement from Williams’s office, would require the DPR to take action on specific fumigants within two years of determining that additional enforcement actions are needed to protect public health.
