A Caltrans truck carrying liquid weed killer spilled approximately 200-300 gallons of its load earlier today on a Highway 154 turnout near the Bradbury Dam. Caltrans spokesperson Jim Shivers said its unclear what caused the spill, but that cleanup crews are on the scene and hope to have the mess completely removed sometime between 4 and 6 p.m. tonight. He said there’s been no environmental impact so far and that officials are keeping a close eye on things to make sure none of the liquid makes its way into nearby Cachuma Lake.
