A bill authored by Assemblymember Das Williams to better regulate traps and methods deployed by nuisance wildlife control operators sailed through the Assembly this week with a 76-0-3 vote in support of the bill. AB 789, which now moves to the Senate, aims to protect domestic pets from being killed by Conibear traps and “outlaws the most heinous methods of animal killing, such as drowning, chest crushing, and injection with toxic chemicals such as nail polish remover,” said Williams spokesperson Josh Molina in a prepared statement.
