Approximately 150,000 Pacific Gas & Electric customers along the Central Coast went without power Sunday night due to a “flash” at a Morro Bay sub-station, company officials said. The outage began at around 9:30 p.m. — affecting customers as far south as Solvang and as far north as Atascadero — but electricity was restored nearly across the board by 2 a.m.

Southern California Edison Customers were not affected. Neither was the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant. The Santa Barbara County Office of Emergency Management sent email and text alerts throughout the outage, explaining it was monitoring the situation in affected areas such as Lompoc, Santa Maria, and the Santa Ynez Valley.
