Woman Pushing Stroller Hit and Killed in Goleta

Infant Transported to Hospital With Moderate Injuries

The Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office is investigating a vehicle versus pedestrian collision Monday evening in Goleta that left a woman dead and an infant with moderate injuries.

According to Sheriff’s and County Fire officials, the woman was pushing the child in a stroller across the intersection of Cathedral Oaks Road at Santa Marguerita Drive when the pair were hit by an oncoming car at around 5:30 p.m. The woman was declared dead at the scene and the infant was transported to Cottage Hospital.

Following the collision, westbound Cathedral Oaks Road was closed from Fairview Avenue to Carlo Drive.

No other details on the incident have been released.
