California Drought
Enough now of no rain,
Enough now of dry eyes of winter,
Day by day, green is fading,
Women returning with
Dry baskets of roses,
Like love during a war time,
A spring with no flowers,
A mother with milk-less breasts,
I take it all in,
I wait, I pray for;
The waterfall to fall again,
The fish in a pond
To swim again,
And,
The butterfly
To fly again,
I take it all in,
I wait, I pray
For the droplets
To return home.
