Senior Tax Opt-Out for Measures A and B

Sun Jan 25, 2015 | 04:00am

Back in 2012, voters in the Santa Barbara Unified School District approved Measures A and B to help fund classes like math, science, and music in junior and senior high schools and in elementary schools. The ballot language included options for seniors to avoid the $45 and $48 property tax assessments from the two measures, and opt-out forms for 2015-16 are currently available at Santa Barbara Unified School District. Direct website access is here. The forms must be filled out annually in order to avoid the assessment in the following year’s property tax cycle.
