Parking Lot Upgrades for Bikers and Disabled

A new Bikestation and better disability-compliant access were added to Parking Lot 3 recently.

Reconfiguring the handicapped parking spaces and installing ramps on concrete islands now makes the lot at the Chapala Street bus station reach Americans with Disability Act standards.

At a cost of about $140,000, the bike building features space to securely lock up 26 bicycles on vertical racks, an air pump, electric bike rechargers, and CCTV security. Monthly ($12) or annual ($96) membership gains entry for bikes and riders.

An annual membership can be used at Bikestations nationwide, including at the Granada Parking Garage, which contains a shower and changing facilities.
