UCSB Pledges Big Bucks for IV Community Services District

UCSB pledged this week to contribute $200,000 each year from 2017 to 2024 to a community services district should one be established in Isla Vista. Assemblymember Das Williams’s AB 3, which would establish a mechanism to create self-governance in the unincorporated college town, is expected to appear on the Senate floor next week. If successful and signed by Governor Jerry Brown, the district would still have to be approved by voters.
