Santa Barbara Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a potential murder-suicide at a Los Olivos residence Thursday morning.

Deputies were dispatched to the 2200 block of Alamo Pintado Avenue at around 8 a.m. after a man called 9-1-1 stating that a violent crime had just occurred, said Sheriff’s spokesperson Kelly Hoover. As a precaution, nearby residents were advised to stay indoors and three area schools were placed on lockdown. A Sheriff’s Office helicopter and armored vehicle were also deployed.

When deputies arrived to the house, they discovered a man and woman dead inside, said Hoover. A firearm was also found. Authorities believe the incident began as a domestic dispute. The identities of the man and woman have not been released.

As of 11:30 a.m., the school lockdowns have been lifted. Hoover said officials don’t believe there are any other suspects in the case. No other information was released as the investigation continues, said Hoover.
