Two SBCC students and Isla Vista roommates — Christian Gallo-Delgado, 20, and James McKee, 22 — were apprehended early Monday morning in connection with a string of overnight burglaries in Isla Vista.

Around 12:45 a.m. on Monday, authorities responded to a report of a home burglary on the 6700 block of Abrego Road, said Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kelly Hoover in a press release. Two suspects stole “an expensive camera” before fleeing out the front door, the victims reported to deputies. Authorities searched the area but found no suspects.

About an hour later, authorities responded to a report of two suspects matching the description of the supsects, who were said to be checking car door handles near the intersection of Abrego and Camino del Sur. Gallo-Delgado fled on foot and was quickly apprehended. McKee evaded authorities and was arrested soon after at his home on the 6600 block of Picasso Road.

When authorities served a search warrant at the Picasso home, they discovered “a large amount of stolen property, including the expensive camera, a flat-screen television, several designer purses, and miscellaneous electronics,” said Hoover. Some of the items were reported stolen in two additional Monday night burglaries.
