A male suspect is sought for allegedly trying to rob Union Bank's Montecito branch Thursday afternoon.

One day after 18-year-old Holden Weddington was arrested for allegedly robbing the Cliff Drive Union Bank, police say a male suspect tried to rob the Union Bank branch on Coast Village Road. According to city police spokesperson Sgt. Riley Harwood, “The suspect presented a demand note to a teller, however [he] fled the scene prior to receiving any cash.” The attempted crime took place Thursday around 3:30 p.m. at the 1030 Coast Village Road branch. Police ask anyone who recognizes the suspect to contact detective Douglas Klug at (805) 897-2346, dklug@sbpd.com, or call anonymously at (805) 897-2386.
