A second-year pre-biology student at UCSB died on Friday night after a hanging attempt two days earlier. The 19-year-old was rushed to the hospital Wednesday afternoon after a Santa Barbara resident cut him down from a tree at the Ellwood Bluffs and gave him CPR. Set to become an officer of UCSB’s snow team, the student was a skier, surfer, and an Orange County lifeguard.
