Manslaughter Charges Filed in Lompoc Death

An accident in Lompoc last Thursday has resulted in manslaughter charges. Victoria Levinson, 62, was driving on West Ocean Avenue at around 10:20 p.m. on October 13 when Spring Morrissey, 32, apparently crossed the center divider, running head-on into Levinson, according to media reports. Levinson died early Friday morning, and Morrissey was taken to the hospital with a broken hip. Morrissey has been charged with vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence, the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office announced today. She was arraigned at Lompoc Superior Court with bail set at $150,000. If found guilty, she faces 10 years in prison maximum.
