Why not ask the UCSB chancellor the most obvious question?
Why not reduce the size of the student body by 4,000 students.
This would solve the housing problem, the congestion problem while improving the quality of education.
The overflow can go to UC Merced, Davis, Riverside, Santa Cruz. Or to the state colleges.
This simple change would solve the problem.
But they never want to talk about this as a solution. Yet they always talk about sustainability.
