Laura DeLoye, who has an extensive background in Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, will give a free lecture April 16 in Lompoc on the “10 Warning Signs of Dementia.”
DeLoye, who is the Program and Education Manager for the Alzheimer’s Association’s California Central Coast Chapter, will present at 6 p.m. at the Dick DeWees Community and Senior Center in Lompoc, 1120 W. Ocean Ave.
The lecture is sponsored by the Lompoc Hospital District Foundation. It is free, and reservations are not required.
DeLoye’s presentation will cover typical age-related changes, common warning signs of Alzheimer’s, how to approach someone about memory concerns, the benefits of early detection, the diagnostic process and will include Alzheimer’s Association resources.
At the Alzheimer’s Association, DeLoye coordinates support groups, education programs, information and referrals as well as care consultations. She has worked in all levels of care with older adults and caregivers for more than 25 years.
