Free Screening! Thanks to the generous support of the Manitou Fund, Santa Barbara International Film Festival welcomes you to our Education Center for our 1st Thursday event for May! On Thursday, May 5, 2022 we are featuring Isaac Hernández de Lipa’s BUILDING A MOVEMENT: 50 YEARS OF ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES AT UCSB, as part of our Santa Barbara Filmmaker Series.

Sparked by the 1969 Santa Barbara Oil Spill, the past and future of the environmental movement is shown through a look at UCSB’s revolutionary program, graduates, and faculty, producing “solutions generators.” Showtimes are: 5:30pm, 6:15pm, 7:00pm 7:45pm. Runtime: 28 mins. The film’s Director, Isaac Hernández de Lipa, and Producer, Nancy Black, will be available for questions between screenings.

Admission is FREE! SBIFF’s Education Center is located at 1330 State Street Suite 101.
