The Nuclear Age Peace Foundation will hold its 37th Annual Evening for Peace celebrating Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs as its 2023 Distinguished Peace Leader. This award is presented annually to an individual who has demonstrated courageous leadership in the cause of peace.
This year’s honoree, Professor Sachs, is University Professor and Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University. He is President of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, Co-Chair of the Council of Engineers for the Energy Transition, and academician of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences at the Vatican. He has been Special Advisor to three United Nations Secretaries-General and currently serves as an SDG Advocate under Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
