Interested in learning to paint but can only draw stick figures? With Art Spot you’re in luck!

Master the fundamentals of acrylic painting in a structured, supportive environment! Over six weeks, you’ll explore:

Color Theory & Mixing – using a limited palette

Value – Bring depth to your work

Brush Techniques – Learn layering, blending & more

Drawing Made Easy – Practical tips to improve accuracy

No experience needed! Just bring your enthusiasm—we’ll provide the guidance.

We’ll have the lessons, inspiring studio space, and encouragement; you provide your art supplies (list below), willingness, and favorite bottle of wine (or beverage of your choice)

Classes are 2.5 hours long and begin Thursday evening, October 2 and end on November 6 from 6pm-8:30pm

Students are responsible to purchase needed supplies–you can find Blick & Amazon links to the supplies needed for the class listed under the shop page or we can have a kit ready for you on the first day of class for $95. Make sure to email us in advance to let us know if you will need a kit.

Class limited to 12 students and will require a minimum of 6 to be conducted.

Supplies list: Links to supplies are on our website SHOP page for both Amazon and Blick.

  • Paintbrushes (for acrylic) I suggest at least 3 different sizes: a bright (size 10), bright (size 4) & round (size 2)–basically, big, medium and a small pointed brush
  • a palette (palette paper works well) or a “Sta-Wet palette” even paper plates
  • acrylic paint in at least the 5 colors (red, blue, yellow, black & white–Liquitex Basics make a good starter paint set).
  • 2- 8×10″ canvas and 1-16×20″ canvas to paint on…canvas board, wood panel, back-stapled or whatever you’d like to try
  • Tabletop Easel (not necessary as you can borrow one from us, but if you plan to paint at home, I’d suggest an easel of some kind)
  • a palette knife (not absolutely necessary, but definitely worth buying)
  • pencil
