The Santa Barbara Foundation invites the community to celebrate the 81st Persons of the Year Jim Morouse and Peter Schuyler at an awards luncheon on Wednesday, April 17.
Morouse, a global marketing leader, has served on boards for Westmont College, the Lobero Theatre Foundation/Encore campaign, and as a founding board member of Leading from Within where he developed curriculum and has taught and mentored Santa Barbara County nonprofit leaders in the Katherine Harvey Fellows program. He has taught business, marketing and entrepreneurship at Westmont and UCSB.
Peter Schuyler, a lifelong and passionate advocate for preservation of local wild places has served as a professional conservationist on Santa Cruz Island, Santa Catalina Island and in Hawaii protecting and preserving native flora and fauna in the face of invasive threats. He has served on the boards of the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, Midland School, Fairview Gardens, Environmental Defense Center and Community Environmental Council and co-chaired the $18M Foothills Forever capital campaign, which engaged 5,500 community donors top purchase and protect the San Marcos Foothills.
