In partnership with Healing Justice Santa Barbara and The Fund for Santa Barbara, Fielding Graduate University is honored to welcome social equality activist and author, Angela Davis, for a community conversation to kick off Martin Luther King Jr. weekend on January 14, 2022, at 6 pm.

The event is virtual and can be found on Fielding’s YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/FieldingEdu

The notable Professor Davis will be presented with the Marie Fielder medal for social transformation by the Marie Fielder Center for Democracy, Leadership, and Education. Additionally, local Black-centered organizing collective Healing Justice Santa Barbara and community foundation The Fund for Santa Barbara will lead a Q&A with Professor Davis with questions from community members. Art will be featured from the local Black Artist Gallery, Melanin, and there will be a live performance from Miriam Dance. This is a unique, interactive, opportunity for members of our community to learn more about how to advance social justice and how America can change.
