AcroYoga or Partner Acrobatics is a playful and intentional physical activity. It is often referred to as “The Yoga of Trust”, and we promise you will find out what that means in your first class. Acro is practiced with at least 2 people AND you don’t need a partner to attend!  Come solo!
These practices promote human connection and trust and improve balance, strength, and flexibility all while having safe and joyful playtime as a community.
Essentially, AcroYoga is playtime and exploration for adults.
In this class, we are going to start with L-Basing Acro, where there is a Base laying on the ground, and a Flyer, that is being supported by the base. We will also have a spotter whose job will be to protect the Flyer (and Base).  We will start with the basic building blocks and create a solid foundation so we can continue safely building a more advanced practice. AcroYoga is truly limitless; you can always modify any skill and make it more challenging. Between all of the fun, strengthening, and freedom of expression, this practice is quite addicting, so don’t say we didn’t warn you!

There are no prerequisites. Anyone who is open to learning is perfect for this class. You may come by yourself, or bring a  partner. If you do come with a partner or find one in class, you could always practice what you learned outside of class. It is best to wear tight-fitting clothes. Since we practice Acroyoga with partners and spotters, making physical contact, it is important to keep our hygiene to be considerate to others.  Also, try to refrain from strong scents as well since these may be difficult for some people to tolerate.

Bring a yoga mat and a towel. (the towel may be used for back support when Basing).
