Oliver Balint is our guest Minister of Music this Sunday! He says, “Soulful melodies, tribal drumming, and powerful sweeping frequencies (the ones that make the body feel gooood) are the elements I’m incorporating into my mix. When I play for ecstatic dance, I love being able to weave multiple genres and emotions into the journey. It’s wonderful witnessing the dancers move to the whole musical story, from slow mellifluous movements and stretches to high-energy bursts that take us out of our body. For me, Ecstatic Dance is powerful because it makes us feel that ‘we belong in life,’ a community of dancers just feeling highly alive. This will be my third time playing for Santa Barbara Dance Tribe and I very much look forward to it!”
Guest Minister of Music Oliver Balint is one of the original Ecstatic Dance DJs from the Big Island Ecstatic Dance Tribe. He’s well known for his ability to bring a dance floor to an epic tribal frenzy as well as to an open-heart space.
