ARISE Women’s Conferences support women from domestic violence shelters and drug rehabilitation homes and helps them arise from their past to a new life.

This year’s 5K Walk and Run is a community friend-raiser and fund-raiser for Santa Barbara Rescue Mission’s Bethel House Women’s Residential Treatment Program.

Through the generous support of sponsors and event participants, last year’s event raised $31,000 that was used to upgrade the Bethel House Women’s Shelter in Santa Barbara.  The renovations included new windows, screens, carpet, bedding replacement and mattresses.  The residents of Bethel House were thrilled that members of their community cared enough to make their home a better place for them to live.

We are asking the community to please consider showcasing their business or an individually sponsorship as we together, raise the funds to provide this wonderful Christmas gift for the ladies of Bethel House.  The fundraising goal this year is $50,000 to complete the ongoing necessary improvements at Bethel House. All press coverage is welcome.

For more information on sponsorship or purchase an entry for the run/walk, you may find more details: or email Donna Reeves at
