The Santa Barbara Arts Collaborative presents its third workshop of the year, Grants, Residencies, & Funding. Whether you are an emerging artist looking to find your niche or a seasoned artist wanting to pivot your career, Art KIT offers camaraderie, feedback, and practical exercises to help you get on track, change your track, or build a new one. This workshop guides artists in investigating what motivates grant searches in order to get clear about how to apply. Participants will learn about types of grants and how to choose the right one, understand how to structure clear narratives, learn about the role of fiscal sponsorships and hear about alternate ways of funding creative projects. Through interactive exercises, attendees will refine their pitches and understand the mechanics of grant writing. Whether applying for your first grant or brushing up on your skills, this session provides valuable tools for searching for and submitting grant and residency proposals.
