Art Matters: Evolution, Economics, Education, and Health

Presenter: Peter M. Rojcewicz, PhD

The evening’s presentation will muse on large issues related to art. Does art play a role in evolution? What is the “creative economy?” Does art have a place in curricula dominated by Science, Engineering, Technology, and Mathematics? Can art add to our health, amidst a mental health crisis and pandemic? This conversation-based evening will consider relevant research, poetry, stories, and learning theory to disrupt perspectives on business, education, individuality, and health. The goal is to dialog as to where the arts stand in a changing world.

Presenter’s Bio Statement:

Peter M. Rojcewicz, PhD is a leadership consultant, education administrator, folklorist, scholar, and poet. Trained in folklore, English literature, and depth psychology, he has taught the humanities, fairy tales, myths, comparative religions, and aesthetics at several universities and the C.G. Jung Foundation for Analytical Psychology, New York. A frequent speaker on the arts, Peter has lectured on the imagination and poetic knowing at the Royal Society of Arts, London, Cornish College of the Arts, and The Juilliard School. He conducted teacher-training classes at the Nashville Center for the Arts. He is a recipient of the Worcester Poetry Prize and the Allen Ginsberg Prize: Honorable Mention.
