The City of Lompoc Parks & Recreation Division, together with the Lompoc Hospital District Foundation and other community sponsors, is pleased to host the free Lompoc Senior Health Expo on Friday, May 19, 2023.

The event is set to run from 9 a.m. to noon at the Dick DeWees Community and Senior Center, 1120 W. Ocean Ave.

“The expo is a comprehensive annual event for older adults and their caregivers to have health screenings, partake in activities, learn about nutrition and health, connect with resources and experts, and enjoy a healthy lunch and prize giveaways,” said Recreation Supervisor Sue Slavens.

Comprehensive Care Center Director of Food and Nutrition Norm Skau will present a “Cooking for One,” demonstration for attendees. Lunch will also be served and door prizes will be given to lucky winners. Attendees will have access to health checks, including cholesterol and blood sugar, blood pressure, vision, and balance testing.

Also on hand will be vendors providing community resources, including Medicare information, fraud and scam prevention, advanced directives, and more.

Additional sponsors are Lompoc Valley Medical Center, CommUnify, Assisted, Visiting Angels, CenCal Health, Lompoc Valley Community Healthcare Organization (LCVHO), Family Service Agency, and Coast Caregiver Resource Center.

Free transportation to and from the event will be provided by the City of Lompoc Transit (COLT). Transportation can be arranged by calling (805) 875-8098 or (805) 736-7666. Community members looking for more information or with questions may call (805) 875-8098.
