ABOUT THE PLAY
In the frozen summer of 1816—one of history’s most extreme climate events—Lord Byron invites a scandalous circle of artists to his villa in Switzerland. Among them: Percy Shelley, his lover Mary Godwin, her stepsister Claire Clairmont, and young Dr. Polidori.
Byron issues a challenge: write a horror story. What emerges from this night of lust, ego, and imagination is the birth of Frankenstein—and the rise of Mary Shelley.
This play is gothic, intimate, and bitingly modern. It reclaims a woman’s story from the wreckage of male legend, and it asks: what do we create in times of collapse?
