Locals4locals is sponsoring a fundraiser to benefit the people devastated by hurricane Dorian in the Northern Bahama islands. The Benefit for the Bahamas. Music will be provided by two awesome local bands – Soul Biscuit and Redfish. Sandbar is providing drink and appetizer specials, there will be a silent auction and door prizes provided by local businesses including Yoga Soup, Brewhouse, Massage Envy, and the Santa Barbara Zoo. All proceeds will go directly to Direct Relief International and World Central Kitchen to support their ground operations in the Bahamas.
Why have a Benefit for the Bahamas? Hurricane Dorian displaced over 70,000 people. Over 4,000 people are still unaccounted for. Even though the scope of the disaster is huge, there has been little attention paid in the media. This benefit will promote awareness in addition to funds. We hope to bring together a diverse group of people and organizations to listen to music have fun and make connections.
