Art works in a variety of media by fifteen local artists will be displayed at a one-day art show at the Unitarian Society of Santa Barbara, 1535 State St. on Sunday, November 20, 10:00 – 3:00.
Paintings, jewelry, fabric arts, handmade paper and cards, mandalas, and succulent plant arrangements will be featured.
Artist Dana Zurzolo has created clothing, bags, table cloths and runners that are hand-embroidered. She also has created an unusual collection of scarves and banners that feature social justice imagery such as gun violence. These beautifully colored items have been exhibited in psychoanalytic textbooks and university classrooms in the US, Canada, Germany and Dubai. The combination of bright feminine colors and beading with gun imagery and messages create a provocative clothing message that has to be noticed by the viewer, and carry a strong message by the wearer.
All of the artists in the show have exhibited in other Santa Barbara art venues and organizations.
